Financial Community Educator

The Role

As a Financial Community Educator, you will provide the following services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples across ICAN serviced communities:

  • Financial capability/literacy education
  • Support for consumer advocacy services (financial counselling)
  • Referral to financial counselling services
  • Development, delivery and evaluation of our Yarnin’ Money program

The ability to travel away from home on a regular basis is essential.

Salary range: $40,000-44,999.

Key Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role you must address each of the following key selection criteria.  Key selection criteria should be addressed in a document separate from your cover letter and resume.

  1. Have an understanding of the purpose and meaning of financial literacy education;
  2. Familiarity with, deep understanding and working knowledge of the relevant issues and cultural protocols impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture when developing new approaches;
  3. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and use autonomy when needed;
  4. Ability to engage with and use effective and appropriate communication to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander target groups.
